NEWBERRY SC ROCKS
For every rock there is a story and a person who wanted to share.
Like many other communities around the world, Newberry has its own Kindness Rocks Group. It began in the summer of 2017 as Newberry prepared to welcome the world for the full solar eclipse. Rocks were painted and hidden around town for visitors to find and take a piece of Newberry back home with them.
The group and its followers has continued to grow. Many individuals and families still paint and hide rocks around town or take them on trips to spread some Newberry sunshine.
Rocks have been used to entertain our children, bring awareness to social movements, lighten a mood, and to memorialize lost friends and family. Rocks often carry the Facebook group name Newberry SC ROCKS and encourage painters and finders to post pictures and comments on the group page.
Whatever our message, whatever our reason, each rock painter is reaching out to touch thoughts and hearts. We hope that you, too, will find a way to do the same.
